Echopaw called for Whiterain to examine her wound once more. She had kept the wound clean by rubbing a marigold poultice on it, to keep infection from entering. Whiterain's head popped into the cove. "I'm here.", the she-wolf said as she walked into the den. Echopaw trotted up to Whiterain and looked at the wound. "Hmm..the scabbing has stopped.", the apprentice murmured. "Thank Starpack, it was starting to itch!", Whiterain complained. Echopaw stifled a giggle. "A little bit of marigold should do the thing, just in case. But otherwise, the healing has been fantastic. Be careful not to open it, or it will scab all over again. In a few days, the healing should be complete.", Echopaw woofed, trying to sound grown-up. Whiterain nodded. "Thank you, Echopaw. The apprentice just smiled. Maybe this new job could be worth-while.
