A week after Sunspark's arrival Ice gained weight and she felt a nudge in her belly. She was tired and stressed, now worried. She knew what happened to her. She walked into Sunteller's den and woofed. "I think I am pregnant." She whispered to Sunteller.

Sunteller blinked once, then prodded Ice's belly gently. "I think you're right," she murmured. "I also think there are more than one."

"Really?!?" Ice asked shocked. But then it hit her. "Do I have to give up my beta position?"

Sunteller shook her head hurriedly. "No, no. You can still act as beta, and the other preyhunters will cover for you. Just because you're going to be a mother doesn't mean you'll have to give up everything else."
