he did but she chose Bramble. Bramble is Thornshadow reincarnated, because he wanted to be with Moonfeather. So now Ashfang(or Ashpaw) has moved on, but he still cares for her, as she does him.

No, not really. She understands fully that she can't be mates with him, but her thoughts betray her best intentions. Basically, she secretly is happy, but feels sorry for Ashfang at the same time.
