Renn sniffed the air. Wolves, lots of them. No twolegs though. She smiled, she wanted to get as far away from them as possible. Determinedly she plowed onward, grateful that it was sunny and not rainy. She could almost imagine how muddy and cold she would get.
Movement distracted her. A bright blue bird was searching for worms. Struggling not to get tangled in the undergrowth, Renn crept towards it. When she was close enough, she jumped. The bird jumped into the air and Renn snagged her claws on it's wing. It escaped, leaving Renn hungry. She sighed in defeat.

Silentstar was in a solo patrol and she found Renn. "Hello little one. Are you lost?"

Renn whipped around, startled. Then she relaxed. "I guess not, I'm not really going anywhere."

She hesitated. "Could you teach me to hunt? The right way I mean."

Silentstar smiled. "Maybe even more. Do you know of the forest packs? I am leader of one pack called ThunderPack. I could bring you to my camp and you could train to be a warrior, I would teach you myself."

"Yes! So let's go back to camp." Silentstar woofed and she lead the pup back to camp.

Jadeflower was in camp when she saw Silentstar come in with a stranger. she smelt like a puppypet. Jadeflower sat up and looked at them with interest.

Silentstar looked at Renn. "I need to make an announcement. Wait right here." And she trotted to HighRock and jumped up on a strong leap. "Let all wolves old enough to hunt their own prey, gather here under HighRock!" (Ok skipping when they join) As soon as all of her pack joined she howled. "In a solo patrol I stumbled across a puppypet, wanting to join the pack." She looked at Renn. "I have offered to be her mentor! If anyone wants to object, speak NOW!!"
Deerkill rose. "What if another pack comes and attacks? Because we have to many who are not pack born?" He challenged.
Silentstar whipped her head to the senior warrior. "So blood is ALL that matters to you?!?"
"No! But maybe to the other packs, especially ShadowPack." Deerkill woofed.
Silentstar snarled. "And when did the other packs opinion matter to you SO much?"
"Since there might be a attack on our pack for NOTHING!" Deerkill howled.
Silentstar looked back at her pack. "Well let's vote! Howl if you think that the puppypet should leave!" Her pack made a huge howl. "Now if you want her to stay!" She joined in the howl, but the howl was louder. "That is IT! The puppypet will stay and she will be named Goldenpaw, in honor of her golden pelt. And I will be her mentor."

Zebraheart and Foxfur howled along in the keeping of Goldenpaw. Foxfur tightened her grip on Creampup, then she turned around to look at Zebraheart. "Your mate has no heart, Zebraheart! He doesn't want to help the poor, all he wants is blood!" she snarled.
Zebraheart glared at her sister,"Yes he does! Don't you ever say anything about my mate again! You know good and well that he wants peace!"
Foxfur snarled," Well then, whose side are you on? Mine or him?"
Zebraheart got up and padded towards Deerkill. "Fine! You aren't my sister anymore!" she spat.

Deerkill saw the snarling sister and looked angry. "Zebraheart! Why did you do that!?!"
Creampup was shaking in fear. "Why is Deerkill so angry?" She asked in a small voice.

"She told me to choose, so I did! I would rather have a dead deer for a sister rather than her! She just insulted you, and I won't stand for it! You can hate me all you want to, but just understand my choice!" she spat. Zebraheart stormed off into the warrior's den.
"Honey, don't worry. My so called sister is making a fool of herself," she murmured. Foxfur licked Creampup's head.

Deerkill sighed and rushed after Zebraheart. "All I was saying is that I don't want you to choose between your sister and me." He woofed gently.
Creampup sighed. "I am hungry."
