the sign we discussed that Whiterain saw wasn't official, so I'm making a post for it
Whiterain lay curled up in the warrior's den, tossing and turning in a fitful sleep. She woke up abrubtly, sighing. There would be no sleep for her tonight. Suddenly, a bright light caught her eye. She crept out of the den, and looked up. There, in the sky, a bright yellow star was blinking, and with incredible speed. Whiterain watched in awe. Was this a sign from Starpack..? Then, after a few moments, it stopped blinking. Suddenly, it exploded. Whiterain closed her eyes against it's brightness. When she opened her eyes, the star was gone, as were the remnants of the aftermath.
Awe-struck, and frightened, Whiterain bounded over to the medicine wolf den. She hated waking them at this hour, but it was important. "Echopaw? Jadeheart?", she called, whispering. Echopaw appeared moments later, blinking sleep from her eyes. "Whiterain, what is it?", she asked, her tired eyes suddenly glowing with interest. Whiterain woofed urgently, "Wake Jadeheart, there is something important we need to discuss."

Jadeheart blinked blearily and peeked out from her nest. "What is it?" she mumbled. She'd been having weird dream flashes lately, and she was irritable from lack of good sleep.

"I think I've had a sign from Starpack.", she woofed. Echohowl sat down and perked her ears.

"Well, I was sleeping, and I had woken up when I noticed a yellow star shining brightly. It began to twinkle very fast, until it exploded. When I looked again, it was gone.", Whiterain woofed softly. Echohowl looked at Whiterain, then at Jadeheart, then back again.

"Whiterain?" a voice called. Bearclaw hovered outside of the den. He had heard her leaving the den, and was worried that something was wrong. Why else would she be up at this hour?

Whiterain turned around. "I think Starpack have sent me a sign, and Jadeheart, Echohowl, and I have been discussing it.", she woofed, licking Bearclaw's cheek.

Jadeheart looked shocked. "A yellow star? Are you sure it was yellow?" She looked down, thinking. "If it was yellow...I think I have an idea of what it could mean."

"A yellow star." Jadeheart's expression was grim. "Well, if you saw the yellow star disappear--it's probably got a connection with Yellowstar himself. Don't mention this sign to him. It'll be between us." She turned to Echohowl. "Do you remember what you said to me, the night before you came back? 'The shadows will return to their former glory through a new power. Be careful, or bloodshed will drown them all...' I think the new power was Yellowstar. But then, at the last meeting, Darkfrost spoke to me. He said, 'The tenuous thread that holds the shadows together has no yellow.' I didn't understand then, but if the star's yellow...All of this was about Yellowstar. He's not holding the Pack together, which is why the thread's not yellow. And if we see his star winking out--it could mean that the next leader will take over very soon."

"Yes...I remember that.", Echohowl woofed, though her eyes were troubled. Whiterain's eyes widened. "What? Are you sure, Jadeheart? I-I don't think I'm ready quite yet.", she woofed, gazing down at her swollen belly. She could feel her pup kicking.

Moonpaw wearily padded to the medicine wolf den. "Jadeheart? Echohowl? I'm sorry to wake or bother you, but my eye is throbbing and....." Moonpaw cut off mid sentence as she looked around with her good eye. Bearclaw, Whiterain, Jadeheart and Echohowl were all awake and sitting up. Deep in her gut, she had a bad feeling. A really bad feeling, that something was wrong. She stopped and shook a little, something was chilling her, though the air was quite warm.

Whiterain nodded, reassured by Jadeheart's words. She, as well as Echohowl, spun around. Echohowl broke the silence. "Your eye is throbbing? Well, come in then. Let me make you a poultice.", and she vanished into the den, returning with a light paste.

Moonpaw nodded. "And, um, Echohowl? I have been having scary dreams, they aren't normal ones. They keep saying scary stuff," Moonpaw admitted.
