"Not forever. Just for tonight.", she reassured, though transparent tears slipped down her cheeks. Sunspark padded up to Thunderheart and licked his face. She leaned closer to whisper in his ear, "I love you.", and spun around, disappearing into the darkness. As she ran, Sunspark allowed the tears to spill out of her eyes like a waterfall. A thought flickered in her mind. Am I destined to be mateless? It didn't work with Red, and I'm afraid the end is near for me and Araw-.....Thunderheart.

"Goodbye. I love you too," he whispered. Tears flowed from his eyes, and his heart was falling to his stomach. Thunderheart threw his head back and let out a soft mourning howl, loud enough for Sunspark to hear. I promise, we will find a way, he vowed.
