Phoenixfeather wanted to talk with Venomfang. She had not forgotten what he said to her when they were in Sun's Death. His words still echoed in her mind, and she felt like now was the time to tell him so herself how she felt. Phoenixfeather waited for Venomfang to come back from patrol.

Venomfang padded in from the patrol and saw Phoenixfeather. He took a deep breath and padded over towards her. "Hey," he muttered in his attractive voice.

Phoenixfeather's amber eyes sparkled. "Hey, Venomfang. There's something I should have mentioned to you before, and now I feel is the time to let you know.", she woofed, taking a deep breath. She looked Venomfang in the eyes. "You told me you loved me, and I did not answer immediately because I was caught off guard, as it were. But here is my answer: I cannot simply ignore the way I feel about you.", Phoenixfeather murmured, taking a step towards him until their pelts brushed. "I love you too.", she whispered in Venomfang's ear.

Every hair on his pelt was a live wire, his once shadowed heart was full of fire. "Really? Phoenixfeather, you do? But why would you fall for a bum like me? Don't get me wrong," he whispered in her ear. The heat from her pelt simmered into his.

Venomfang didn't hesitate and took back that step. He laid his head on her shoulders. "Care to go for a walk?" he woofed, attractively.

Venomfang laughed quietly. "Well then let's go," he breathed into her ear. He turned to her side and lead her towards the forest.
Moonfeather giggled and sighed with happiness from the warrior's den. Ah, love. It stinks, yet it brings hope, she pondered.

Phoenixfeather's soft, sweet voice thinned into a gentle laugh as she walked beside Venomfang. Moonrun looked at Moonfeather. "It's about time that bossy-paws got a mate.", she woofed, amused, pointing her muzzle at Venomfang as he left camp.

Moonfeather giggled and nodded in agreement. "He deserves it. I'm glad he found one," she woofed.
Venomfang walked close to Phoenixfeather in the light of the setting sun. "I want to take you somewhere special," he murmured. It would be sun-fall soon, and it would be perfect for his little meadow.

Venomfang and Phoenixfeather continued to walk until it was dusk and he came upon his secret meadow. He pushed back some ivy with his tail and revealed the most beautiful place. It was a secret meadow surrounded by willows and pretty flowers. Fireflies danced in the moonlight to the beat of the wind. "Well?" he murmured, hopeful.

Phoenixfeather's breath caught in her throat. "It's beautiful.", she gasped.

"I wouldn't say that. Not with you here in comparison," he breathed into her ear smoothly. He padded into the center of the meadow and looked at the crescent moon. His black pelt was a pale gray, that was waving in the small breeze.

Phoenixfeather padded over to sit next to him. "Oh Venomfang..", she sighed blissfully. Her pelt was turned to a faint rust color.
