i had to write an essay for school. so i wrote this, and well i wanna do, do you believe you are the master of your fate, or do you believe in destiny?
(i have one on chocolate too ill look for it...)
“Fate” and “destiny” are two powerful words. Both sound mystical and magical, but neither describes life very well. I don’t believe we have total control over our own lives, but of course we can alter them, and decide some of what happens. We have choices. You can decide what to eat, what career to follow, how you spend your free time, and whether you wait for a red light to cross the street. Unfortunately, you could decide to kill someone, including yourself…. But that doesn’t make it fate. You aren’t the master over everything. You could walk the path laid out for you, but it’s your decision.
Some parts of our life are perceived as destiny. That makes it sound like they were simply meant to happen. But maybe it was just luck. I find it depressing to think I am just some character in a book, that my life is being made into a movie and I’m just acting it out as planned. Other people have an effect on your life, and mine too. Their decisions can affect you. Was that your destiny? Or did they just choose that fate for you? If that’s so then you aren’t in control anymore!
There really is no way to prove that all the decisions I have made and will make in life were just my fate. At the end, I guess I’ll find out if it was meant to be destiny or not. I believe life in the middle of those two, fate and destiny. Some people will disagree, but that line that separates them both is where you place it.
