Hawk and Sunteller were together; the two friends were out and about in the territory of the Tribe. Sunteller wanted to stock up on healing herbs before the good growing season was over, and had recruited Hawk to help. They were just about to head for home when the prey-hunter scented something every wolf dreaded. "Sharptooth!" she declared loudly, pushing Sunteller out of the way as the feared monster jumped from an outcropping of rock before them, landing where the Healer had just stood. Neither of them was well trained in battle; Hawk was a prey-hunter, and Sunteller had been a prey-hunter before becoming Healer. "Go get help!" Hawk howled, pushing the Healer further behind her. "I'll try to hold him off." Sunteller shook her head. "You can't--you know that." Hawk made a grumbling noise in her chest. "I know. Tell Rock--just--tell him I'm sorry. Tell him I love him. Go!" As the sharptooth lunged for the small brown and yellow prey-hunter's throat, Hawk gave Sunteller a final backwards push. The Healer and prey-hunter had no chance. As the lithe mountain cat threw aside Hawk's body, Sunteller made a final attempt at escape, at going for help. It caught her before she could make it in time, dragging her back by the back leg and closing its teeth around her throat, ripping it open.

Pyro stood there and ran to the cave. as soon as he go their he said "sharptooth has attacked" he was oout of breath and laid down

Tiger and Claw looked up from their pups. "Where? Show us!" Tiger growled. Tiger and Claw raced out of the cave and followed Pyro, or more like dragged him. The two brothers raced down to where the Sharptooth was fleeing and saw Sunteller and Hawk. "Sunteller!" they barked.

Pyro was in horro of what he saw. hawk and sunteller dead. "well now we know that sharptooth is here and now we need a new leader. We have to be on the look out so that we dont end oout like them" Pyro said

Tiger and Claw nodded. "Exactly. Come on, we must get back before sharptooth comes back," Tiger advised. He padded over and gingerly picked up Sunteller and put the dead leader on his back. Claw did the same with Hawk. "Pyro, follow behind us and keep watch. We need to get home," Claw woofed. Tiger and Claw took off running like a rabbit, towards the cave. All they were were streaks of red and brown.

Whisper grunted as she heaved herself over the last cliff. He legs were sore after falling down a slope yesterday. In her mouth she held a delicious rabbit. She couldn't wait to eat something. She stood panting at the top, then she noticed everyone else. She was quick to notice the bodies. "No." She breathed. THe rabbit fell from her jaws and fell down to the small valley below her. Whisper hung her head in grief.

Once Claw and Tiger appeared in the cave, they gently laid down Sunteller and Hawk. "Sunteller and Hawk is dead!" Claw howled.

Midnight,Moon,mieka,and shadow got up and ran over "suntellers dead" mieka fell to the floor and cried. "how could we let this happen?" she asked

WHisper pushed her nose into Sunteller's fur. He smelled like death. In her head, she howled with the rest of them.

Ice gave a quick loving glance to her pups and ran to Hawk and Sunteller. "I am coming!" She howled and snarled at the cat.

Snow and Gin whined and let out a childish mourning howl.

Ice saw the bodies and bowed her beautiful head and then tilted her head and made a moanful howl. Then she stopped. "I must take his place..." She whispered.

Ice dipped her head to the stripped wolf. "Thank you." She whispered. "Now I must get back to my pups, Rose, Moon, Night, and Fish are hungry. She woofed and looked at Sunteller and Hawk's bodies. "Take their bodies to the cave and we will honor them, the bury them."
