[Moonlit]

Scream lapped up water from the river, keeping one eye on Terra and the other on Jay. The little blue tom was crouched beside the water, perhaps waiting for a fish. Terra was lying down on a rock her black fur almost undistinguishable next to the dark surface. A dep rumble came from her stomach, and Scream took a deep breath to quiet it. For a moment she couldn't help wishing for a huge rabbit or even a fish before she felt guilty again. Even if a rabbit did come along it would go strait to Terra and Jay. She was their sister so it was her job, no one else was goign to help... A scream cut off her thoughts, she had been to caught up with herself, not keeping watch as she should have been.
Terra was crouching besides the rock, her ears flat back and her fur sticking up everywhere. She looked even smaller than she was (only 5 moons old) when compaired with the huge fox crouching over her. Jay was frozen by the river as several fish made their escape.
Yowleing Scream launched herself at the fox, landing on its neck. Sinking all four sets of claws, she hung on as it reared up, trying to shake her off. Scream jumped off as the fox dropped and rolled over, only to rake its face as she lept on again, clawing and biting its back. Suddenly pain seared up her leg as the fox bit down on it. It thre her to the ground where she lay in a dusty bloody pile. The fox sprang on her but Scream reared up again, clawing its face. Suddenly the fox reared back shaking its head back and forth. Blood seaped from one of its ruined eyes as it started coming back for Scream.

"Need a hand? Or in this case, paw?", a light brown tabby she-cat asked as she crashed out of the bushes. Briar had been watching Scream, and for a moment, she looked like she had everything under control, but obviously not. Briar bristled and unsheathed her claws as she sprang at the fox, deriving its attention.

[Moonlit]

I think Scream would appreciate it. (lol)

Bone looked at Scream and asked "are you okay?"

[Moonlit]

Scream shrugged. Looking around for the kits, she immediatly spotted Terra and Jay, crouching under a hawthorn bush. "Thanks." She said to the other cat, sweeping the kits up with her tail.

"Oh, you're welcome.", Briar replied as the fox ran away.

[Moonlit]

Scream nodded, inspecting the kits. Jay was staring up at Briar, studdying her with big blue eyes. Terra was more concerned with where the for had gone, glaring at the spot the fox had dissapeared with flattened ears. Neither were hurt.

Briar looked back at the kits Jay and Terra. "Are they your's?", she inquired to Scream.

[Moonlit]

"Not exactly, my sisters. But I look after them now."

"Oh.", Briar replied, and let the subject drop. "This may seem premature, as I just met you, but would you be interested in joining a little group Bone and I have put together? There are no guarantees about your safety, but we can offer you and your sister's kits food and protection.", she mewed.

[Moonlit]

Scream looked surprised. SHe glanced at the kits, thinking. "They will be safe, right?" She asked. "You all will protect them?"

[Moony]

"I will," Dew said, walking out of the bushes, she heard the last of the conversation. She looked at the cute kits. Shadow watched from the shadows.

[Moonlit]

Scream shifted uneasily, but then she remembered how thin Jay and Terra looked. She would have to do whatever she could to protect them and get prey for them. And that would mean joining this group of cats. "Fine then, we wil come with you." She mewed.

Briar dipped her head. "Follow us. We have set our camp in a hollow grove not far from here. The briar and bramble bushes offer protection from the outside while the ferns and trees give us shelter.", she replied with a meow.

[Emeraldblaze]

Bone led them and emerald was in the back gaurding. "now that we have more people we can get more and then protect everyone by watching eachothers backs" Bone said to briar
