Since his meeting with Keeva in a dream, Diogenes felt revitalized and devious again. He also needed to talk to Lucy, but that could wait. He had a plan to boost the morale of his pack. Diogenes leaped onto his haystack and beckoned Lucy to his side, as it was customary to have both alphas present for meetings. Important meetings. "Renegades, gather! Come wolves, I have something I need to share.", he howled.


Son, Sangre, Cher, Pendergast, Blackrose, Versailles and Tuscanelli gathered, ears perked. When Diogenes had that look in his eye, he was up to something. Matrix was already sitting below the haystack, so he turned to face his leader.

Tron followed his packmates and sat beside Matrix, engrossed in this new development. It was about time the Renegades were back in action. He could feel the excitement and curiousity growing.

Kae, Zon, and the pups looked at their leader.

"I have checked the forest myself, and there are definitely cats in our territory, stealing our prey. This threatens our survival, as there won't be as much prey running around in leaf-fall. We need to prepare. Our food supply is already at low, and we don't need cats stealing whatever prey there is left. Also, Dio is missing. Pendergast followed his scent all the way to the Thunderpack border, leading me to believe he has been kidnapped. I need two parties: one to eradicate our feline rivals, and one to fetch Dio back.", Diogenes said with feeling. These were lean times, and he needed the strength of the pack to get them through.


"We'll go on the rescue party!", Son, Sangre, and Tuscanelli said at the same time. They wanted to help their cousin. "And we'll go on the battle party.", Pendergast said, looking at Cher, Blackrose, and Versailles. Pendergast wanted to get his brother's approval, and this was a good opportunity.

Void rose to her paws. "I will go on the rescue party.", she said flatly. There was bound to be fighting-Thunderpack wouldn't be lenient with Renegades, and that was okay. They had an advantage over them.

Malvina and Kodai shot up. "Rescue!" they barked in unison.

Sheeva and Chelsea padded over to Pendergast.

Zon looked at his father with interest. "I will go to rescure my brother, Kae will go on to the battle party. The pups will have a quick training lesson and will go with Kae, cats are easier to kill than wolves."

The pups smiled at the opputitly to prove themselves.

Kae growled at Zon for letting the pups come and she looked at Dio. "Will we eat the cats, or kill them? Eating the cats would mean more prey, but they are very tough to chew. Also if you hurt a lot of cats, and just leave some dead, that will send a signal to the other cats."

Diogenes looked sternly at Kae. "Kill them of course. I'd rather stick to eating deer. I want no prisoners.", he said, then pointed his muzzle at Nikumu for an example of a prisoner. The husky glared at him, and said nothing. "Pendergast will lead the battle party, while Zon will lead the rescue party.", he said.

Matrix walked over to Pendergast's group. He didn't mind a younger wolf ordering him about; Pendergast looked like he knew what he was doing. The cream colored wolf nodded as his group began to form.

Lucy sat there listening to diogenes. "are you sure we should do this? what if dio made the chioce to join thunderpack?" she said. Ruby was going to say something but she desided not to get involed

Diogenes looked at Lucy, determination in his silver eyes. "I am certain. I know my own son, Lucy, and I know he'd never join Thunderpack."

Zon looked at Kae with embearestment, glaring at her.

Kae and the pups went out to the forest, to do a training seison.

Zon smiled. "And with my gift, I can know if Dio is even there."

Diogenes grinned. "Very good. Now go; I expect Dio is waiting for us," he woofed.



Son, Sangre, Cher, Pendergast, Blackrose, Versailles, Matrix and Tuscanelli all rose to their paws, raring to go.
