Phoenixfeather lay in the nursery, her soft, warm, ginger body curled around Graypup and Thunderpup. They had been talking about what it meant to be a warrior. Graypup was silent for a moment, then looked up at her mother with the brightest amber eyes. "Mama, when I get bigger, I'm going to be the bestest warrior in Shadowpack! Me and Thunderpup!", she boasted, turning to lick her brother on the nose. Phoenixfeather grinned. "Yes. You both will have the other Packs trembling in fear!", she woofed, and tickled her two children. Graypup squealed in utter bliss. "Mama!", Graypup laughed. Phoenixfeather laughed with her.

Jetfur walked by the nursery and watched. "hey Phoenixfeather, how are the pups?" she asked

Phoenixfeather stopped, leaving Graypup to pounce on her brother. "Hi Jetfur. They're doing great, actually. Getting bigger by the day, and more rambunctious.", she said.

A content, warm glow filled Phoenixfeather's eyes. "You'll love it. Being a mother is the best feeling in the world, even if the pups are trouble, they are still your flesh and blood. The feeling that you brought something into the world is the most gratifying thing you can feel.", she explained.

Jetfur sat at her mothers grave for a while and then saw shadedwing "hey shadedwing how are you?" jetfur asked "im good i was just about to see Phoenixfeather's pups." shadedwing said. Jetfur nodded and shadedwing went to the nursery "they are getting big each day"

Thunderpup squealed as he tackled Graypup. "Imma gonna be big and strong like daddy!" he boasted, smiling. He playfully nipped and tugged his sister's ear.
Venomfang smiled as he padded into the nursery, frogs and voles in his mouth, and placed them down. "Hello, dear," he greeted warmly, licking his mate's ear. "Heya kids! Hello Jetfur, Shadedwing," he smiled.

Phoenixfeather growled contentedly. "Hey, kids, your father is here.", she said as she turned around. Graypup poked Thunderpup in the shoulder, then her ears perked up and she spotted Venomfang. "DADDY!", she woofed, and flung herself out of the nursery towards him.
