I wish I knew Who my father was, even more so, who I am. It just isn't fair sometimes, I wasn't born into a pack nor did Ihave any friends. My mom was my only friend, the only one who cared, since my father left. Now they are both dead, what luck for me. This pack I live in now, however, saw him in me. Everything about me was like him, my looks, whits, and personality. A little comfort, to know that I'm a mini-clone. How fun! Either way, I know he lives in me, and all his friends in ShadowPack.
I was born on the other side of the mountain, in a tiny village my mother called Lunarsville. She was once owned by a Two-leg, but ran away before I was born. She was a beautiful German Shepard named Sahara, her fur was soft and warm, with a tint of light brown on her black fur. She always told me," Jerome. Your father would be very proud of you, Arawn would be proud." As a young pup, I would always squeak and promise that I'd find him someday, and as always, she would shake her head.
I never knew my mother was sick because of me, until a couple of moons ago. Sahara had caught a post-birthing disease and it had intensified over time. My mother would start breathing weird, and she became deathly skinny. I would always bring her food, and she would nibble it, then pass out. I couldn't stand it any longer, and she could sense that. "Jerome, you must go find Arawn. He lives on the other side of the mountain. Run, Run, Run nonstop until you reach the forest. The nearby Tribe might take you in for a while but, stay on your feet. Live your life fully, Jerome. Become the wolf you want to be, Jerome. Never die in vain, Jerome. I love you, Jerome." Then, she died.
After her burial, I did as she said. I ran nonstop. The tribe did watch over me for a while, then I was off again. All the while, I heard the rumors of The Renegades and Sun's Death, and how a wolf betrayed them. I had no idea what Arawn looked like, but maybe that was him. After two moons of running, I came to the forest on the other side of the mountain.
I remember thinking, Yes! I did it mother! In the distance, I heard whines, snarls, and snaps. Instinctively, I ran towards it, to find the Renegades and Sun's Death running away, and a huge male lying on the floor, dead. Two females and a male were crying over the body. I went over to ask them if they knew Arawn, and they looked at me like I had three heads. Only then did I realize that the dead wolf beside me, who had just died, looked just like me in a way. The other male, Venomfang, said that the wolf right here was once Arawn, but had become Thunderheart of ShadowPack because he was good spirited and pure. I was too late, by mere seconds!
Venomfang took me in, as did all ShadowPack. I still my my dad, even though I never knew him. Yet, I do, because he lives in me, Jerome.
♫Wait
There's no mountain too great
Oh, oh, iyo
Hear the words and have faith
Oh, oh, iyo
Have faith
Hela hey mamela [Hey, listen]
He lives in you
He lives in me
He watches over
Everything we see
Into the water
Into the truth
In your reflection
He lives in you♫
