i thought bout writing this story, but i only wrote an except...
this is the summary...Although the Planet is called Earth, it is really made of three other elements. terra knew this as well as anybody.
the four elements were protected by thier keepers. Before an elemental died, they must pass the greatest gift and worst curse onto someone else. If not the Planet would unblalance, and destroy itself completely...
The code was passed along, and the Earth was safe until the lost Elementals.
Terra, of Earth, with her hazel-eyed steed; Aquatis, of water, with the shappire fish; Ariar, of air, with the golden eagle; and Pyler, of fire, with the scarlet serpent. The four friends broke the code, by falling in love. Air headed Aria fell for hot tempered Pyler, and down to earth Terra became enchanted with easy going Aquatis. And two children were born, son and daughter of the elements. The moment of their births, a destiny was set in the stars. The fate of the Earth was in their tiny fingers, the fate of one.
The Elementals dissappeared from the face of the Planet, four had become two. And two must become one....
And that is where their story begins...

The old woman slowly led them to the back of the cave. It was chilly, and a strange breeze rustled the woman's silver hair, grayer than storm clouds, longer than the trailing branches of a willow. It went down to her knees!
Zoe skirted the puddles, admiring their clear reflections, but not what was in them. She scowled at her reflection, then looked up and toward her left, towards Zach. Her head spun until there, he was right behind her. He, quite the opposite, was transfixed with his appearance, turning his head, running his $10 black comb through his long golden locks...
"Such a girl' thought Zoe with disgust. "He thinks he's so handsome..."
And really deep down, if she thought about it too long, she agreed with him. He was kinda cute...
"No! Um I mean" Zoe flushed with embarrassment that warmed her in the freezing cve "Are we there yet?"
"Yes" replied the elderly lady, who refused to give her name. She pointed a short, wrinkly, crooked old finger at the small cavenr in front of them "Pick them up"
"Pick what up?" grumbled Zach, rolling his dark brown eyes. He was finished checking himself out. Zoe thoguht his grumble almost sounded like a growl...
As they stepped forward, four boulders came The large rocks were waist high, and round as a table, and just as smooth. As her eyes fully adjusted to the unusual light, she saw four glowing objects, one on top of each boulder. Zoe slowly walked to the center of the diamond, and Zach followed. As they looked around, Zoe was the first to gasp "There are jewels!"
"Oh, ooh, wow, jewelry" muttered Zach.
Zoe glared at him as the old woman rasped again, this time impatiently "Pick them up"
Zoe blinked, studying the stones. They were four differnet colors: yellow, green, red, and blue.Earth and Water, those were her elements. So the green and the blue.She walked forward, towards the blue one, and genlty scooped it up. She gasped again, the stone was warm! She felt its power prickling her finger tips. It was the bluest, and most beautiful shapphire she had ever seen. To her left was the green rock, and she leaned over and picked it up too. She had thought'd it be an emerald, but it was paler and smoother, a jade.Like the first one, she could sense its great energy. With a feeling of excitement, Zoe realized she was about to face her destiny, discover her true power, and become an Elemental.
She looked up and saw as Zach tossed hs stones into te air, a bright piece of amber and a glowing ruby, and began to juggle them.
Such carelessness, such ignorance, such... Zach was a jerk!
"Serious now" croaked the woman, gray eyes hard, glaring at Zach.
Zach scowled at her, then just shrugged. They both turned to stare at the woman now.
'Kiss the stones"
"WHAT?!" Zach howled with laughter, bent over with the stones resting on his knees in his hands.
Zoe ignored him, and pressed her lips to the rocks, first the shappire, then the jade. The second her lips touched them, a silver spirit emerged from each stone as if from her mouth.
Zach's hoots and howls died away and his brown eyes widened with shock. He bent his head to his rocks, and gave them each a peck. Golden mist sprang up from them, and the ghostly figures took solid form...
Before Zoe was a tall, proud silver horse, with a milky mane ans shimmering hooves that didnt make even a whisper on the pebbly ground. He blinked its long eyelashes, gazing at her with big hazel eyes that were more green than brown...
Tentatively, the girl reached out a shaking hand, and barely brushed its soft nose when the great beast whinnied, and she jumped backward, hand clamped to her heart.
Something was protruding from its forhead, parting its mane from his eyes. A horn! It was a unicorn with a horn made of jade!
Zoe felt like she would be happy forever is she could just never look away. But a loud flopping snapped her back as if from a dream...
She almost screamed. A giant blue fish flapped at her feet, its bulging fishy eyes staring up at her.
But it wasnt flopping like a dying fish out of water, it was calmly sitting upright, like it was swimming in air. As she slowly overcame her first shock, she realized this was a wonderfully beautiful creature. Its scales were the same color of the jewel it had emerged from, shappire rimmed with diamond. It had a flowing tail and sparkling fins.
Out of the corner of her eye she saw a flash of gold, and wondered if Zach's spirits had reshaped. One was still golden; It was an eagle, both fearsome and majestic, with handsome tawny wings and ebony claws. The boy put out an arm, and as light as a feather, it alighted onto his arm, talons safely tucked away.
A spark of fear flashed in Zach's face, and Zoe looked down. Curled around his feet was a giant coal-black serpent, red tongue flickering. It slithered on his shoes, settling quite comfortably.
Zoe looked at her unicorn and fish, how beautiful they were.she heard a loud screech and her head shot up. Zach's eagle had taken flight and hovered above his head, his golden wings tossing around specks of light. when suddenly it swooped, and both children gasped. the eagle's cruel talons lunged for the serpent. and even though the snake freaked him out, Zach couldnt do anything. he waved his arms and swatted at the eagle, but it flew to the side, then lunged toward the ground. the second it touched the black reptile, golden smoke appeared and the beasts dissappeared in the fog.
the old woman didnt speak nor move, and Zach and Xoe watched, tranzfixed, as a new creature appeared out of the fire, and alit on Zach;s shoulders. a Scarlet pheonix had replaced the eagle and the snake.
the old woman rasped "Your guardian, the pheonix. It will guide you in times of uncertainty, and will accompany where ever you go"
she turned to Zoe "Your turn"
the pheonix nipped Zach's ear gently, adn the boy felt his shoulder grow warm from where she sat. She was certainy beautiful, and proud, as if she commanded respect. it spun its head towards him, its dark eyes studying him.
Zoe wasnt sure what to do, but it turned out she didnt have to do anything. the unicorn brushed its soft nose against the shapphire fish, and they burst into the silver clouds, and a new creature would emerge.
Zoe trembled with excitement. If Zach had gotten that lovely pheonix from an eagle and a snake, what would she get from the beautiful fish and the unicorn? an animal of earth and water, as the pheonix was of fire and air...
the smoke cleared, and before Zoe stood her new guardian...
a bumpy, green toad. it blinked its watery brown eyes at her, and ribbited...
